How to cook Rice Roti
Rice Roti, also known as Akki Roti, is a popular breakfast in Karnataka, one of the South Indian states. In this post, we will see how to prepare Rice Roti easily.

A 6-inch Rice Roti contains approximately 71 calories, 3 grams of protein, 0.4 grams of fat, and 15 grams of carbohydrates. Rice has lower amounts of phosphorus and magnesium compared to wheat.
Ingredients
- Boiled Rice - ½ kg
- Big Onion - 2 medium-sized
- Coriander leaves - A few leaves as needed
- Curry leaves - A few leaves as needed
- Cumin Seeds - 1 ½ tablespoons
- Green Chilies - 3
- Salt - As needed
Method
Flour Preparation
- Soak the Boiled Rice for 4 to 5 Hours.
- Add the salt as needed.
- Grind the soaked boiled rice into a very fine batter.
- No needs to fragment this batter.
Mixture Preparation
- Chop the onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves, and green chilies.
- Take the cumin seeds. Now add all these ingredients and mix them well.
- Then combine both the flour batter and the mixture.
How to Cook
- Heat a Dosa tawa well.
- Take a banana leaf and spread some batter on it, forming a round shape.
- When the tawa is fully heated, place the rice roti on it.
- Flip it over to ensure both sides are cooked well.
- Once cooked, remove it from the tawa and repeat the same process for all the rotis.
Once all the rice rotis are cooked, serve them with Coconut Chutney or Tomato Chutney. You can also enjoy these rice rotis on their own.
