How to install WordPress plugins


Installing plugins is a simple process in WordPress. With over thousands of plugins available on WordPress.org and other marketplaces, it's easy to add new functions and features to your website, such as contact forms, galleries, sliders, and more.

Here are three ways to install plugins on your WordPress site:

  1. Search for plugins using the WordPress Plugin Search option.
  2. Use the WordPress Admin Plugin Upload option to upload your plugin.
  3. Manually install a plugin by downloading it from the source and uploading it to your site.
 
Using WordPress Search Option

This way is very simple for installing the plugin we use the plugin search. The free plugins are available in this search from WordPress plugin directory.

In WordPress admin area, Click on Plugins > Add new you can see the below screen just search the plugin in the search box. The plugins are listed below you can install plugin by clicking the install now button. Please choose the best plugin based on review and rating.

After clicking the install now button you can see page like below screenshot. Click the Activate button to activate your plugin.

Now you can see the plugin in your plugin page.


Using WordPress Admin Plugin Upload Option

Paid Plugin are installed using this way. Once you have downloaded your plugin and then you need to go WordPress admin area.

In WordPress admin area, Click the Plugins > Add New and then below screen will appear.

Click the Upload Plugin button in the top of the page then below screen will appear.

You can choose your plugin and then click the install now button below screen will appear.

Now you can click the Activate plugin button to activate your plugin. After activate the plugin now you can see your plugin in the plugin page.
 
Manually Install a WordPress Plugin
In some case, your hosting provider will have restriction for file limit to upload in to the server in that case we can use this method. We can upload the plugin file in the plugin folder in this path /wp-content/plugins/.
 You can upload your file in this path using either filezilla or using cpanel. After you upload your plugin file you can see the plugin in plugin page like below screen.
